Tim Cook, the Apple Inc. CEO, announced the iPhone 7 Plus along with the iPhone 7 on 7th September 2016, and both iPhones were available for sale from the 16th of the same month. Controversial from the beginning, the iPhone 7 Plus (and iPhone 7) were the first iPhone models to do away with the standard 3.5 mm jack socket, which meant that users needed to fit an adaptor (supplied with the iPhone) in order to use existing peripherals such as headphones, or go totally wireless. Despite grumbles about this feature, the iPhone 7 Plus has plenty to offer, including an image stabilised rear 12-megapixel camera, with a telephoto lens option for even greater zooming capabilities.
The Home button has been replaced with a static capacitive Home key, which feels as though it moves when you press it, and the iPhone 7 Plus comes in the same colour set as the iPhone 6 Plus (which it resembles superficially) plus new options of shiny jet black and a stylish matt black. These features, combined with the super-detailed 5.5-inch display, super-fast operation and improved dust and water resistance, make this a must-have Apple device.
