Since 1969, Samsung Electric Industries, now known simply as Samsung, have been making electronic devices in South Korea. The first of the Samsung Android smartphones was released in 2009, and although titled the Samsung GT-I7500, this 3.5G smartphone with a 3.2” touch screen later became known as the first model in the Galaxy range.
Samsung has since grown into one of the largest of the smartphone manufacturers, and continues to release new models of the Galaxy range of smartphones and phablets. The most recent releases were the A3, A5 and A7 models, which were announced as a replacement for the Galaxy Note 7, which was discontinued in late 2016.
