The iPhone X (or iPhone 10) was announced in conjunction with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, at the September 2017 launch event, and scheduled for release in November 2017. The launch was hosted by Tim Cooke, Apple Inc. CEO and was held in the prestigious Steve Jobs Theater, located at Apple HQ. There had been considerable speculation before the event, as the iPhone 10 (as it was rumoured to be called) was the 10th anniversary model of the iPhone. As it turned out, the new iPhone was named the iPhone X (X being 10 in Roman numerals), and was the highest priced iPhone to date, having topped £1,000 for the first time.
The iPhone X with glass front and back, and a steel joining strip, was the premium model in the iPhone range, and boasted a whole host of major innovations. From the wireless charging capability, to the 5.8” Super Retina HD Display with True Tone technology. From Face ID facial recognition technology and infra-red camera to the capability for producing animated emojis (Animojis). The list just goes on and on - altogether, an iPhone model certainly worth getting your hands on.
