About Galaxy J3

The Samsung Galaxy J3 is a mid-range Android smartphone that was released in 2016 to replace the Galaxy J5. The ‘J’ stands for ‘joy’, and this smartphone was greeted enthusiastically as not only modestly-priced, but also boasting a 5-inch high definition Super AMOLED screen. This type of screen is superior to the LCD displays used by other mid-range smartphones because it is bright, the contrast and colour saturation are superior, and it allows wider viewing angles. Available in black or gold, the size of this smartphone makes it small enough to fit into a pocket or handbag, but the 5-inch screen is still large enough to be easy to use.

With a good battery life, the Galaxy J3 made a good impression as an entry-level smartphone, apart from a little criticism of the rear camera. The J5 had a 13-megapixel camera whereas the J3 has a lower spec at 8-megapixels. Critics have stated that the camera is fine for outdoor grab shot photography in good light (you can quickly access the camera from the home button), but indoor photos in lower light were more of a problem. Having said that, most reviewers felt that this camera was still a good buy with great features for the price.
